olor grading on the go has never been easier. With the Blackmagic Camera App for iOS and Android, you can load your LUTVault LUTs directly into the app and apply cinematic looks while filming. Whether you're using a custom col or grade from DaVinci Resolve or a LUT pack you purchased, this guide walks you through the entire process—complete with visual references.

Your LUT file in .cube format

2. Access the Settings Menu

3. Navigate to the “LUTs” Section

Scroll until you find LUTs or Look Up Tables in the settings menu. Tap it to open the LUT management area.
4. Tap “Import LUT” or “Add New LUT”

The button wording may vary slightly across versions, but the function is the same.
5. Choose Your LUT File From Storage

The app will open your phone’s file picker. Navigate to wherever your LUT file is stored.
Supported formats:
-
.cube (most common)
-
.3dl (sometimes supported depending on version)

6. Name Your LUT for Easy Access

Give your LUT a recognizable name, like:
-
“Teal & Orange – Filmic”
-
“Cinematic Neutral”
-
“S-Log3 to Rec709 – Clean”
Tap Save.
7. Apply the LUT While Shooting

Once imported, you can apply the LUT in the Monitoring section of the app. This lets you preview your footage with your desired look while recording.
Important:
-
LUT preview does not bake into your footage unless you choose to record in a baked profile.
-
RAW/Log formats remain unaltered—only the preview uses the LUT.
Extra Tip: Using LUTs as Monitoring Presets
Some creators use LUTs to match different cameras or simulate final grades. You can:
-
Load conversion LUTs (S-Log3 → Rec709, BMDFilm → Rec709).
-
Load creative LUTs for stylized looks.
-
Toggle LUTs on/off if you need a neutral monitoring view.
